Insomnia60, the UK’s largest gaming festival, which runs over the Easter bank holiday weekend, will see the most star-studded lineup in its 17-year history grace the stage at the NEC in Birmingham, as YouTube superstars Syndicate, Yogscast and MumboJumbo, with a combined fanbase of nearly 20 million people, will be meeting fans and enjoying the countless gaming features and events on offer.
This follows the news that on the Saturday evening there will be music from Years and Years, Chase & Status, Wretch 32, Disciples and Jaguar Skills. These new music acts add to Insomnia60’s status as a truly fantastic day and evening out for the whole family. Read the rest of this entry »

This post-apocalyptic scene featuring Birmingham’s famous Rotunda and Selfridges buildings may seem like a snapshot captured in a distant future, but it is in-fact part of a nationwide publicity campaign to promote an upcoming video game.
The makers of Horizon Zero Dawn – which launches in the UK this week, on the 1st March – have re-imagined Brum along with cities across the UK as neglected futuristic cities populated with robot dinosaurs, or ‘robosaurs’. Read the rest of this entry »

Two young men from Birmingham have held a grueling 24-hour gaming marathon to help raise hundreds of pounds for charity.
Jamie Chapman and Luke Wilson put themselves through a whole day and night of sponsored non-stop live streamed game-play and raised just under £400 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Read the rest of this entry »

A special Halloween themed charity Pokéwalk, inspired by and incorporating popular gaming app Pokémon Go, is to take place in Birmingham next month.
Following on from the successful Pokémon walk in July, during which fans of the franchise walked through the city streets catching Pokémon to raise money for charity, the event will once again be taking place in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Read the rest of this entry »

A mass Pokémon Go flashmob walk is set to take place in Birmingham city centre this weekend, with hundreds expected to attend as the Nintendo gaming craze continues to grip the country.
Co-organised by Birmingham mega fans of the latest gaming trend to hit city streets, the aptly named Pokéwalk was announced on July 15 and since amassed the interest of 1,500 people on its Facebook page. Read the rest of this entry »

The latest Call of Duty game was launched at midnight by gaming outlets across the country
Gaming fans turned out in full force last night as the eagerly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was finally released early this morning.
