Around 200 of protesters have marched through the streets of Birmingham city centre today in solidarity with LGBT individuals in Chechnya, who have been reportedly rounded up by Government officials and persecuted in the Eastern European country.

Standing in support of the victims of what has been described as State brutality, campaigners marched from the LGBT Centre in Holloway Circus to Victoria Square, where they gathered for a protest rally condemning the alleged human rights abuses. Read the rest of this entry »

A young man from Oldbury in the West Midlands who claimed a bus driver had allegedly directed homophobic comments towards him, has been reassured by the Diamond bus company that abusive behaviour from their staff is unacceptable, after he reportedly filmed the driver calling him a “queer”.

30-year-old Luke Williams was exposed to the drive-by homophobia last earlier this month on September 15, as he was walking in Dudley Road.  Avid YouTuber Luke, who was filming himself at the time of the incident, was left shocked and disturbed after reviewing his footage to discover the driver of a Diamond service bus appeared to have hurled the slur. A young man from Oldbury in the West Midlands has expressed shock and anger after claiming to have been verbally abused by a ‘bus driver’ who allegedly directed homophobic comments towards him, reportedly calling him a “queer”.
